First try of 3D Typography

In Design on 02/10/2010 at 12:08

I had the assignment to do a poster concept for an arts club. My concept was quite simple. A grid system behind allows to move around typography and do different arrangements, according to the title and the artists. As title concept i wanted to visualize the title as handmade typography in a metaphor. First word was “Verbindung” (connection, association, interlinkage). I built the typography with wooden type from a handcraft shop which i enveloped with threads, then i photographed it. I made the typography “flying” with some wires at the back.

Daniel at Typo Berlin

Last week i went to Berlin for two days to join Darren Bowles (Design Director Moving Brands) on Stage at Typo Berlin 2009. We were having a presentation about living identities with a case study about the new brand of Swisscom. It was a great pleasure to speak in front of such a big international audience, and we got very positive feedback. I also met up Dalton Maag and some other great people i knew from Typo Zurich and other events in Switzerland.

Wedding Identity

In Design, Myself on 03/30/2009 at 09:53

For our wedding i tried to find a design that fits for both of us (of course), so, the typographic combined with a more romantic approach. Final solution is a pattern, made out of important things in our lives, combined with clarendon. We also defined a set of colors which we randomly used in the printings.

Banca Rotta

In Design on 03/23/2009 at 14:31

A work about the actual financial crisis. I had the idea of viualizing the german word “bankrott” (bankrupt) by taking his derivation “banca rotta” which means broken, dead bank. Working with layers of transparent foil with printed stocks, shaping a skull when looking from further away.In close up view one just see blurred stocks fading in the darkness.
